Organic Dittany Herbal Tea
The Organic Dittany Herbal Tea from the Greek lifestyle brand 10AM Apotheke is made from Dittany, hand-harvested in the White Mountains of Crete. Dittany is among the most quintessentially Cretan herbs and has a rich, oregano-like aroma.
The 10AM Apotheke collection represents items that founder Eva Papadaki’s grew up with in Crete - everyday articles that is liberating simplicity. The collection is harvested and made with natural ingredients from Crete and the area around the 10AM Lofts in Athens.
Dittany is native to the island and grows only in rocky terrains at high altitudes, making it notoriously difficult to cultivate. Given the right conditions, it grows in shrubs with small, soft leaves and vibrant purple flowers which are dried to a richly-scented herbal tea with a subtle, savoury edge. It’s also cherished for its healing properties and said to help aid digestion and soothe headaches. Aristotle even famously named it a ‘miracle cure’ plant.
